I'm thrilled to be back for the September blog hop! I made a card using the Scriptures clear stamp set. I can't say enough how much I love this stamp set. I used some Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx by Color Box for the majority of my card. The color was indigo and I don't have much purple in my stash so thank goodness I picked this up a while back!

With the Art Textures red rubber cling stamp set I created my background. I mixed some white gesso with some of my indigo Inx and started stamping onto white cardstock. I did not re-ink it - just kept stamping and stamping.

Then I used the large circle Art Textures stamp dipped straight onto the indigo Inx and plopped two large circles on my page. At this point, I used my heating tool to help all of the inks dry. Then I used another stamp from the Art Textures set and heat embossed some silver circles. I also dipped the edges of my background paper onto my embossing ink and heat embossed the edges with silver.

The sentiment is stamped with the indigo Inx and punched out with one of my EK Success punches. I added a few Freckled Fawn stars with glitter to top of my card.

thanks for the memories||Scrapping Turtle skech reveal.

Today is our sketch reveal at Scrapping Turtle. Here's the sketch Bev provided:

I used a lot of my July 'Studio Calico kits on this one + some SC printables from their website. I also grabbed some things from my stash like the Elle's Studio card and the Kelly Purkey label stickers. The washi are from Freckled Fawn (yellow) and SC (orange/pink/yellow).

My photos are a couple I snapped while we were on Half Moon Cay on our cruise in January. It was SO beautiful that day - bright shining sun and soft sand. Hands down our best day on the trip.

Visit the Turtle Soup forum to see the other design team projects and upload your project for a chance at the prize.

past due [LCOM 86].

We're on the Let's Capture our Memories blog with sketch 86 today!
I shrunk my page to 8.5x11 size and I used some old patterned paper (that is NOT ombre in real life) from my stash. This is a photo of my hummingbird I was able to capture one evening in July. I had quite a few problems attracting my hummer, even though ALL my flowers are supposed to attract hummingbirds.

First, I had a purple and clear plastic feeder. Come to find out they prefer glass. Then I changed the location. Finally I switched to a red glass feeder. It still took several weeks to get one. Now he (or she?) comes faithfully every day. He used to fly away with any movement but since Bentley spends so much time in the backyard, the hummer finally got used to him. Now he'll stay on the feeder even while the dog is running around.

I camped out at my patio door one evening to try to catch a photo of him. It's not the greatest photo but I get so excited when I see him out there on the feeder!
Supplies
stamps: Studio Calico
ink: Versafine (onyx black)
label stickers, flair: Kelly Purkey
label stickers: Basic Grey
tiny tags: Elle's Studio
patterned paper: Glitz Design Olivia (red); Doodlebug (pink); MME Indie Chick (yellow)
enamel dots: Doodlebug
die cut shapes: October Afternoon

I hope you'll stop by Let's Capture our Memories to see the designs from the other team members and link up your project for a chance to win the prize. This month it's a scrappy grab bag.

Hey everyone! I'm on the Paper Wings Productions blog, The Aviary, today with a Scrapbook Saturday post. I've SO enjoyed my guest month with PWP and I lovelovelove the stamp sets I got.

For my project today, I made a 12x12 scrapbook page from TJ's nephew's graduation back in June.He switched schools for his senior year, fell in love with an Italian exchange student, and really excelled academically. His school colors are blue and red but everyone in this photo was wearing a different color so I edited it to tone the colors way down.

All of the details for my page are over on the PWP blog - so go there to see all about the altering and dimension that I used on this page. I just love those altered gold wings!

Thanks to Carrie for inviting me to play this month and thank you all for allowing me to share my ideas! Please stop by The Aviary and leave me some love!

mom's pond|Scrap Much?!

It's Sketchy Friday over at Scrap Much?! and team B is sharing their designs with our awesome sketch.
ScrapMuch? Sketchy Friday for August 22

We hope you'll visit the ScrapMuch?! page today and see the sketch, the inspiration from the other designers, and enter for a chance to win!

For my page, I printed off two photos from this spring. You may remember THIS post about when we had to re-build mom's pond and clean it out and re-plant flowers and ALL of that. She is so happy with the pond now, it has fish in it, the flowers look so nice, and it's really peaceful to lay out and read a book.

I used my June Studio Calico kits (that patterned paper is SC Limelight) + a lot of stuff from my stash. Sassafras alphas + Basic Grey alphas, Freckled Fawn + Glitz Design washi, Jillibean Soup die cut cardstock pieces, Basic Grey enamel dots, Creative Embellishments wood veneer, Skipping5 puffy geotag sticker, and SN@P! by Simple Stories cardstock stickers.

Thanks for stopping by!

let's go [LCOM #84].

I can't believe it's August! Where does the time go?! Today my team is revealing sketch #84 over at Let's Capture our Memories. Go check it out and see all the inspiration. You can enter to win on the blog too! Here's the sketch:
LCOM84
 Here's what I did:
8.5 x 11 size.

I snapped this photo of TJ's nephew back in May. We just finished a garage sale at TJ's parent's house and Q wanted to come with me to feed and potty Bentley. That took about 10 minutes and then he was bored. He made us PB&J sandwiches, turned on the TV, tried to get on the treadmill, took a tour of the house, tried to ride our bikes (which were WAY too big), threw the Frisbee once, and then climbed the tree. He was not content and didn't sit still for longer than 30 seconds. I've not experienced anything like it in a LONG time! I was exhausted.

I used some Glitz Design and Studio Calico papers from my stash. I recently ordered an Elle's Studio grab bag so I used some of those + some Kelly Purkey stuff so I used one of her flair badges. The green washi is October Afternoon and the woodgrain washi is Glitz Design. I used some labels [Snap-CAPS] from OA Daily Flash collection and the tree die cut is from Jillibean Soup Chilled Cucumber Soup. The enamel dots + the stamp are Studio Calico and I added a label from Basic Grey's Hey Girl collection.

The prize this month is a grab bag of items from some awesome manufacturers! Here's how you can play along (you can also view these rules HERE):

1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget HERE. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.

wonderful days of summer|Scrap Much?!

It's the B team sketchy Friday release at Scrap Much?!

Our town has a free summer concert series in the park on Friday nights. One night in June, Dr Hook played and mom was dying to see them. We had never even heard of them but we all went and TJ's parents met us there. It wasn't bad but not a band that I'd necessarily want to hear again either.

I pulled some patterned papers from my stash - that background piece is by Sassafras (Sunshine Broadcast). I used some of Elle's Studio labels and tags + some Jillibean Soup Pea Pod Parts (Chilled Cucumber Soup). Here's our sketch:

Let's Capture our Memories posts a color challenge on the first of every month. This month, Isabelle collaborated with Laura from Stuck?! Sketches for a really fun challenge. In August there will be a color challenge + a sketch challenge!

I grabbed a couple of photos from spring break in April. We went out to dinner for TJ's sister's birthday. I used Fancy Pants As You Wish patterned paper + a 6x6 sheet from Studio Calico's Atlantic collection. My chipboard pieces are from Studio Calico + Hello Forever, from the June SC kits. The cork pieces are from the June 2014 Scraptastic kits. My label stickers are SN@P! by Simple Stories and Hello by Basic Grey. The puffy geotag is by Skipping5. Here's my page:
Head over to the LCOM blog to see the sketch, tons of inspiration, and your chance for a prize. LCOM is offering a $20 coupon for the LCOM store as the prize for participating in this challenge + you have to visit Stuck?!Sketches to see the inspiration and the chance for the prize for participating there. Paper Wings Productions August Blog Hop: Favorite Color
This didn't scan so great but I used pink cardstock for my base and misted with glitz spray in sunset pink and moon shadow mist in silhouette silver by Lindy's Stamp Gang. Those gold foil wings and this stamp set were made for each other! I used the Faber Casteel artist big brush pens to stamp in the sentiment. I really love the way it turned out.

I've had this photo on my computer for over a year. This is a newborn photo of my second cousin's baby. She was born last August. Her mom was a school teacher. I just think this photo is so adorable. [Photo credit Harmon Photography]

I've linked the items I used directly to the store so they're really easy to find. I love this stamp set. Honestly, I love SO many of the PWP stamp sets. This was my first time using Lindy's Stamp Gang and I don't think it will be my last :) This was also my first time using the big brush pens by Faber Castell. The colors in this RED package are magenta, deep scarlet red, and scarlet red. Really pretty. I lovelovelove the look you get by using them like I did. That will be something I will never get bored with!

It's time to send you off to your next stop so head on over to AMBER.
