look for rainbows.

I have a fun page to share today! This one was inspired by challenge 403 at Use Your Stuff - books. I thought I would use a quote from one of my favorite books that I read last year.

I did some mixed media on the background. First I used gesso. Next I took my distress oxide ink pads and swiped them straight onto the paper. Then I spritzed some water on them and formed my rainbow. I added some embellishments from my stash to coordinate with my rainbow theme. Thanks for looking!

love always.

I'm squeezing in one more challenge for the Paper Issues summer crop. This one was for the scrap heap challenge - to use three different manufacturers. The rest text paper is from Studio Calico (2013!), the heart paper is Amy Tangerine (Oh Happy Life) and my embellishments are from PinkFresh Studios (Joyful Days).

I used some broken china distress ink + the packaging technique in one corner. In the other corner I used my mini bricks stencil from TCW + some transparent matte texture paste. The sequins are A Heart's Key from Spiegelmom Scraps. Thanks for looking!

summer lillies.

Paper Issues has a summer camp going on through this weekend and I'm earning a badge for another challenge with this layout. This is for the packing list challenge where you are given a list of items and you have to use five of them. I chose yellow, Thickers, sequins, flair, a circle and a butterfly.

These are my lillies from this summer! All of these (except the red ones) are ones I planted last spring. I love seeing them bloom in the summer. I created my page with a FREE cut file from Paper Issues. I edited this cut file in Silhouette to turn the bottom half from waves into grass. Then I used peeled paint distress oxide and popped it up with foam adhesive.

The 'sky' of the cut file, I wanted to make look like a gorgeous sunset so I chose distress inks in spiced marmalade and wild honey + Pink Stillettos Coloringz from Shimmerz. This is a totally different style than I usually do, but I love how it turned out. Thanks for looking!

Keaton.

I decided to start fostering again this summer and my husband thinks I'm crazy our first foster was a three month old puppy. Mostly I have fostered older dogs so this was an adventure.

Keaton had a high pitched, ear piercing bark and he used his voice non-stop. He was a super fast learner, picked up on our routine quickly, and was too rough with the cats. We had him for two weeks and he was adopted by a perfect family with two kids who will love him fur-ever.

homemade memories.

Paper Issues is having an online crop and I decided to play along with some of the challenges. This one was for the talent show challenge - to scrap an accomplishment.

So we moved into our new home in May 2019 and finally by October I had our main living room the way I wanted it. This is actually the first room that I completely finished... and I should admit that none of the other rooms are really "finished" yet. Except the upstairs bathroom. It's done.

This is all from the Let's Stay Home collection from PinkFresh Studios. I used Liquitex gesso on the background and then distress inks in Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough. Thanks for looking!

sunshine water beach [Challenge YOUrself #80].

Hello again friends!

This month's Challenge YOUrself challenge is one of my favorites because it's about your vacation! I work to vacation :)
I found a free cut file from Paper Issues + used the Unforgettable collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I have a process video HERE.

For a final touch, I added Ride the Tide Spiegelmom Scraps sequins and some flair from Scrappin Happy Studio.

Thanks for looking!

happy.

One more challenge for Paper Issues before July ends! This is for the Freedom of Peach challenge. I rarely use the color peach, but it is in this Celebrate collection from PinkFresh + Altenew. I found the invitation from my bridal shower from 2018 and I wanted to get it scrapbooked. It can be hard to put large ephemera on a scrapbook page, but I think it worked here.

Thanks for looking!

Future Mrs.

Today I have a layout inspired by the July 17 sketch at Lasting Memories. It's a two photo sketch, but I used one horizontal photo instead. I was looking through my Instagram and I realize I've been primarily scrapbooking one photo layouts lately but I have no photos to scrap. We haven't done anything all year because of Covid! I need some family gatherings and some birthday parties and some trips!

This photo is my bestie's engagement photo. We've been planning their wedding for next July.

Everything on my page is from the Celebrate collection from PinkFresh + Altenew, with the exception of some Scrappin Happy Studio flair. Thanks for looking!

a moment in time // Denise Boddey Designs.

Hi! Today I'm sharing a layout using two chipboard pieces from Denise Boddey Designs.  I have a process video HERE.

I chose the deco large corner chipboard accent for a fun detail on my page. I first painted my chipboard with some white gesso mixed with white acrylic paint. After it dried, I painted the pieces with two Shimmerz colors. I love the pink accent it added to my page and all of the pretty shimmer.

My title is from THIS chipboard set. Thanks for looking!

supplies
Shimmerz Paint: Blingz Gold n Roses and Shimmerz Pink-o de Mayo
patterned paper, stickers: Simple Stories (Love & Adore)

homebody.

I couldn't wait to play with my new Let's Stay Home collection from PinkFresh Studio.

I found these great photos of the first home I ever lived in. My mom had written on the back of them and I wanted to use that on my layouts. So I took a photo of her handwriting, printed it out, and adhered it to my page like journaling.

I did some mixed media with Spiced Marmalade and Pine Needles. Thanks for looking!

land of the free & home of the brave.

Hello! Today I made a page for a July challenge at Paper Issues - streaks and stripes. I used Shimmerz Aqua Huez in red hot to make my streaks. I did not plan these out. Just grabbed my paintbrush and went with it.

The cut file is free at Paper Issues. I just kept it on my cutting mat and added some distress inks. I didn't even use gesso. Super simple! Then I added some Firecrackers sequins and used up my last star rhinestones by Jenni Bowlin (circa 2012).

I love you yesterday, today & FURever.

This page was inspired by a challenge at The Studio Challenges this month to do your layout on an angle or a slant. So I applied my mixed media diagonally across the page. I cut the cloud paper at a slant and then I angled my photo mat patterned paper.

This is all from the Cooper collection from Bella Blvd. I love this collection!

cupcakes for nurses.

This page was just for fun! I wanted to play with some of the PinkFresh + Altenew collaboration, Celebrate. I used a Paige Evans cut file and made my cupcake into a shaker. I actually finished up my pack of Cotton Candy Land sequins!

I did a little bit of mixed media on this page. First I used clear gesso and then I added picked raspberry distress ink. I fussy cut the florals from one of the patterned papers from the Celebrate collection. I hate fussy cutting, but I actually love how this turned out.

As a final touch I added some epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio! Thanks for looking:)

fabulous.

I made this page for the Scrap the Girls challenge this month. It just so happens that the colors on the mood board are the colors of distress oxide inks that I have! I used broken china, twisted citron, squeezed lemonade, and worn lipstick on this page.
This page was made with the new Celebrate collection from PinkFresh & Altenew. There was only one small embellishment package with this collection so I dug into my PinkFresh stash for some more embellishing:)
