Here's a layout I made with some Instagram photos. They recently have started a windmill farm in the southern part of the county which has been controversial & gotten a lot of press. We were on our way back from Indy a few weekends ago & I happened to notice them from the highway. Immediately I wanted to detour through the country & see them up close.
This was inspired by the Scrapbook Circle challenge to use springtime hues. I was thinking clear blue skies + warm yellow sun. Something we haven't seen much of yet - even though it's almost May! I was also inspired by this sketch at Scrap Much?
I used my April Studio Calico kits here - that yellow ombre patterned paper is from the Daily Grind add on & it also had a pretty pink ombre design on the other side. It was tough to decide between the two!

half the good things in my life... [LCOM sketch #17]
This is one of my favorite Gary songs. Photo was taken in Chicago this past December, when we were there to see him at Joe's Bar.
Here is our sketch:
Really loved this sketch & think I'll use it again. Here's my layout:
The letter stickers are all American Crafts & so is the silver glitter tape. The papers are all Pink Paislee Secret Crush. Bottom left corner has a strip of May Arts ribbon & an Elle's Studio label.
Don't forget to stop by to see what the other DT members created & to link up!

pouting face.
Poor Bentley & his pouting face. After we came back from a run we put B on "place" which is his karunda bed. [This was entirely brought forth from his trainer when we first got him. We wouldn't have come up with this on our own & at first I was against it but it has turned out to be a saving grace.] It's not punishment. It's "his place" where he can sit, lie, stand, have toys, whatever he wants but there are two rules. 1) he has to stay on place & 2) he has to be quiet on place. Anyway, sometimes he gets pouty when he's put on place, kind of like he is being punished. This day, we had come back from a run & put him on place so we could stretch on the floor. You can't get on the floor without B getting in your face. So this was his reaction to being on place at that time:
I used all three April SC kits for this one.

thanks card [LCOM sketch challenge #16].
Hey Hey! We've got a great sketch to share at Let's Capture our Memories & my assignment this time was a card. I used three hexagon shapes instead of the squares (like would be used for photos in a layout).
Here's our sketch:
Here's my card:
My supplies: the large hexagons are from the Sweet Stamp Shop pattern craze. The small hexagon border is from Paper Smooches geo-graphic. The sentiment is also from Paper Smooches - sentiment sampler. The ink is garden grass from the Prima chalk ink fluid edgers. The yellow polka dot paper is Studio Calico, the green plaid is American Crafts Botanique. The yellow flower paper came from my scrap stash so I'm not sure who made it but it's rather old.
Stop by the LCOM blog to see how the other DT members used this sketch.
The rules:
1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.
3. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword LCOM16. LCOM products are NOT required to participate, and you can enter as many times as you want. If you don't have a particular shape indicated in the sketch, feel free to substitute.
4. There is no time limit - you can always play any week at any time, but the linking form will close on the last day of the month at 8:00pm (Atlantic Standard Time) to allow us to find a prize winner.

for you tag [Gelatins Stamps & the Robin's Nest!]
Gelatins Stamps is teaming up with the Robin's Nest this month & I have a little gift tag I made featuring the diamond dew drops.
I used the build your own paisley floral Gelatins stamp with some purple & red inks to make a paisley floral background on the tag.
I attached some purple May Arts ribbon at the top, stamped a sentiment (Unity kit of the month from Sept 2010 when I am with you) & wrapped some twine around the sentiment block & it's ready to go!

Easter Greetings [card for Gelatins Stamps featuring Robin's Nest paper].
I realize this is a little late but better late than never, right? :)
This pretty pink paper is from the Robin's Nest. We're teaming up with them this entire month! Be sure to check out the Gelatins blog for posts from other design team members using lots of Robin's Nest products.
For this card, I used the Gelatins stamp set Easter Bunnies. It's a really cute set:
& here is my card:
I stamped the eggs with Prima chalk ink fluid edgers in English Ivy & Coldsfoot Petals. I grabbed my border punch & some May Arts ribbon to finish it off.

Ben's Cave. [LCOM sketch challenge]
This kit (similar to last month's kit) reminds me of the beach & our vacation last year to the Bahamas. I've scrapbooked about Gold Rock Beach but not Ben's Cave so I printed off these photos. Ben's Cave is in Lucayan National Park, which is right across the road from Gold Rock Beach. Admission includes both so we walked through the national park before heading to the beach.
Our sketch for LCOM was this:
& this is my layout:
Since this was going to be an 8.5 x 11 page, I had to alter the photos. Mine are about 2.5 x 3 inches (except the one on the left is trimmed to about 2x2). The rest of the design is pretty much the same.
Everything is from the Neverland SC kit.
Here's how to join us:
1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.

refill.
B went through this phase a few months ago where he would bring us his water bowl when it was empty. Cracked us up because we would hear him for several minutes scooting the bowl across the floor & then finally picking it up & carrying it out to us.
I based this on a sketch from Paper Lovers Studio.

have a little faith card {Gelatins Stamps}.
I have a new stamp set to try - build your own paisley floral stamp set.
I thought I'd try something different with these & not use them as a paisley. So I stamped the paisley floral print (which is really pretty!) & then punched it out with a circle. Just something a little different & makes your stamp set more versatile.
Here's my card:
The background paper is from the Glitz Design 6x6 paper pad cashmere dame & the flower is a Crate Paper cardstock sticker. The sentiment stamp is from Unity Moments in Bloom.
