About my Dogs

In September 2011, we adopted our black Lab, Bentley, from Love of Labs. Our plan was to be a foster home and Bentley was our first foster. He was rescued from a shelter in Alabama where he was picked up as a stray. He was a scrawny 54lbs and had no manners.

We named him Bentley, after the governor of Alabama, and quickly hired a personal obedience trainer to tame his wild ways. Six weeks later, he graduated from obedience class and weighed in at 80lbs. He also became what is known as a "foster failure" because we adopted him. We fell in love with his handsome face and his sweet disposition. Now we can't imagine life without him.

Since our first foster failure, we've fostered many other dogs for LOLIN and even started fostering sick kitties for the Humane Society for Hamilton County. I volunteer at our local humane society, helping out with the cats and the dogs, cleaning kennels, and attending events.

In December of 2014, we experienced another "foster failure." We fostered Bella, who was found as a stray in a corn field. She was pregnant and malnourished and after giving birth to ten puppies at the shelter, only one survived and was adopted. Bella is Golden Retriever/Alaskan Malamute. She has the sweetest eyes and the most gentle personality. We just couldn't bear to let her go - so now we have two dogs! As you can imagine, things can get a little wild around here but we really wouldn't trade it for anything.
