this moment.

Last page for January!

Had time to do a scraplift for the Paper Issues Friends & Fans Facebook page. You can see the page here. To copy her circular design, I used a Paper Issues cut file. I really wanted to show off the cut file, so I didn't do nearly as much layering and embellishing as she did.

Here's my page:

 Thanks for looking!:)

Merry Christmas.

Had some time tonight to play along with Sketch N Scrap's sketch 145. I printed off two photos of our Christmas puppies that I haven't scrapbooked yet.

I made my title with my Cricut and just hand cut the little banners in the corner.

love this.

One more last page for January! This one using the Snowflakes challenge at The Studio Challenges.

I cut a huge snowflake out with my Cricut, but this sparkly cardstock is so pretty that I saved it to use the negative space. I found this 'love' text paper in my stash from Echo Park's wedding release last summer that I thought was perfect for this page. It's a holiday page, but not too Christmasy. Love is a universal theme:)

so handsome.

Stick It Down has a cyber crop going on this week on Facebook. One of the challenges is to use an old single page sketch. Antonia hosted this challenge & has some amazing inspiration posted on her blog.

I chose this one from December 2017. Laura's sketches are wonderful & I could easily make pages with all of them!

I chose these photos of Bentley in his tie at Halloween because he just looks so damn handsome I can hardly stand it!

Thanks for looking!

you make my world a better place.

Today I have a challenge going live at the Sticking it Down Facebook crop, which is going on all weekend. If you haven't joined yet, you need to head over to the SID Facebook page for the details.

My challenge is to choose ANY Stick It Down sketch - new, old, card, layout, doesn't matter - and be inspired by a song. You can find the SID sketches on the blog (just filter by card/single page/double page) or on Pinterest.

I chose Kane Brown's better place. He's a newer artist to me, I love his voice, and his love songs kill it.

The sketch I chose was the single page sketch from August 2017.

Here's my page:

I hope you join us this weekend! Challenges will remain open until Monday, February 5!

Skipping Stones Designs | Just a Note to say Thanks

Hi! I have a card today using the Heart Song stamp set at Skipping Stones Designs. This is a fun set with several sentiments that makes this a super versatile set. Love that!

I used some fun embossing powder for my butterfly and fussy cut it. Then I used the music stamp and a fine white detail embossing powder on the base of my card. I wanted to ground my sentiment but not have the music be the focal point of the card. Next, I used a light pink distress ink over the top of my white embossing powder for a little added detail. This ink resists the embossing powder and helps the white stand out. Again, not taking away from my sentiment or my butterfly.

Do you like it?

supplies
embossing powder: Simon Says Stamp!(fine detail white); Sparkle N Sprinkle (Bahama Mama EP439)
ink: Versafine (onyx black); Tim Holtz distress ink (spun sugar)

happily homed.

I played along for the first time ever with White... with 1 this month. I liked the textures from the stacked pots (is that what they are?) and the circles from the candy. I also was inspired by the blue/white contrast in the textiles. I had some blue/white tags from Elle's Studio in my stash that reminded me of that photo. Here's the mood board:

Hi friends! Today I made a page using one of the sketches from Sketch N Scrap's January crop on Facebook. This was a great page to use up some of last year's summer releases from Echo Park and my pictures are from Labor day weekend 2016 so this was an all around stash busting page!

feeling so very blessed.

I'm playing along with the January Golden Globe challenge at Scrap our Stash. We had to use a winter theme +  snow or white sequins. I'm also joining the glitter challenge at The Paper Girls challenge blog this month.

I chose this woodgrain paper because our photos were taken in a covered wooden bridge + it has snow flakes on itn for the snow part of Scrap our Stash's challenge. For the glitter challenge, I added the gold glitter trees from Color Cast Designs and gold ink splatters.

Thanks for looking!

adios Isla.

Finishing up probably my last page from our vacation to Mexico last February. Just in time for us to travel there again next month! :)

This page was inspired by the January 1 sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I smooshed it down to 8.5x11 size so I lost one of the photos. I also interpreted the that left upper corner a little differently. Something new I've never done before and I kind of like the outcome!

Thanks for looking!

vacation.

Since we've got our trip to Mexico coming up next month, I thought this was a great time to finish up my pictures from our 2017 trip to Mexico. I've made several pages about our trip, but I like to make a pocket style page with some of the 'random' photos from our trip that don't warrant a whole spread them selves.

This page actually took me forever to finish. Each little pocket is like its own layout and requires finding the right stamp and embellishments.

Polar Bear Express.

I made a page using the Take 5 Tuesday challenge at Paper Issues. I used pink, mint green, star, patterned paper, and washi.

We took Austin's niece and nephew on the polar bear express train ride this winter, which ended up being a bust, but got our money refunded so not all was lost.
