thankful.

In April, my brother's dog got suddenly ill and they had to make the really difficult decision to put him to sleep. My brother called me at work and we discussed Vanilla's illness and what had to be done. I was heartbroken.

I rescued Vanilla (and his brother Chocolate, who has since passed) back in 2013. Vanilla is the absolute sweetest boy I have ever met in my life. I considered him my dog, even though I rescued him for my brother and he lived with my brother.

So I wanted to do a sort of memorial page for him and I chose a bunch of selfies my brother had taken of the two of them in his car. I used the Midnight collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio because I really liked the grey/blue for this page.

This globe cut file is fresh off of today's newsletter for Spiegelmom Scraps. I used the I Love You More sequin mix to make some shaker pockets with the globe.

June Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash.

I was absent from Scrap Our Stash last month because of moving, but I am back!

I chose the left side of  the sketch and used mainly my Noteworthy stash from Elle's Studio. My photos are poor quality (taken inside a bar) so I printed them small. I felt like the bright background would be a good contrast to the poor quality photos, but it was a little TOO bright. So I just painted some white acrylic paint lightly over the background.

Whitey.

She's actually the neighbor's cat, not ours. But they told us she's the best hunter and she's so cute that she's always welcome.

I used the new Bella Blvd Home Sweet Home collection. Thanks for looking!

moments.

Hi! I'm playing along with CSI case file 285 today! I pulled the navy blue and white with and used stripes, frames, a jar, and text pattern.
I was also inspired by one of this month's challenges at Paper Issues, Get me to the Alter on Time. It's all about wedding pages and we know I have plenty of those :)

best friends.

I got out my Midnight stash and made a page using this month's Let's Get Sketchy sketch.

I used a bunch of the frames from this collection behind my photo instead of the doilies and tags the sketch had. I also added the strip to the bottom to complement the strip at the top. I used a cut file from Paper Issues for my title. Thanks for looking!

photobooth.

The Scrap the Girls challenge this month had me inspired to just grab a bunch of stuff from my stash that didn't even necessarily match, but would just look good together.

I started with a cut file from Paper Issues and a super old Echo Park papaer. I added some distress oxide ink and Shimmerz splatters to the background. Then I pulled out some cardstock stickers and die cut pieces. I added some sequins and the words and finally called it good.

happy heart.

I'm not going to tell you how many times I had to reposition the letters in this title. It's embarrassing.

This is the Crate Paper Main Squeeze collection I've been hoarding. These papers are so cute, I just can't stand to cut them or use them in any way!

I based this page off the June sketch that Rochelle has. Of course, I shrunk it down to 8.5x11 size and only used one photo because of the smaller page size. I also participated in the Take 5 Challenge at Paper Issues using red, blue, large title, layers, and circles.

friends making memories.

Hey guys!

I'm back today with a layout I created with this month's single page sketch from Stick It Down. I also used a new cut file from Spiegelmom Scraps. This cut file was revealed in the Sunday, June 9 newsletter. If you're not a subscriber to the SMS newsletters, head HERE, scroll to the bottom, and you'll find the sign up.

You'll notice I erased some of the cut file to single out the butterfly. I then duplicated the butterfly several times to use it on my page.

I used the Strawberry Tart sequin mix on this page. It looks really cute with this Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection.

adventure.

This is a fun page using the May new releases - Snippity Snip and Lucky Charmer. We got free tickets to Judge Mathis last month and this is selfie we took at a bar across the street from NBC Studios prior to heading in for the filming.

This striped patterned paper is from Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush and I wanted to use some of my new (Tuesday Morning find) matte metallilc texture paste form Brea Reese. This stuff was fun! It's such a pretty silver metallic and the sequins just stick right to it.

party.

I've been gone so long! I was a little rusty making this page, but I like the outcome. I used some older Pink Paislee Pick Me Up papers and embellishments + some Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush die cuts.

My cut file is from Paper Issues. I turned it into a shaker with some Spiegelmom Scraps Fancy Flight + Rose Gold Glory.

One of the reasons I've been MIA is that we closed on our house and moved in. I had planned a birthday party for my friend for three weeks after we moved in. So we had a lot of work to do! This photo was taken at her party - she had a good time! :)

our new home.

Hello again!

I took a sort of unanticipated leave of absence from the blogging world because we finally closed on our new house! We have spent the majority of April moving and getting settled. Still not there yet, but getting closer every day :)

I purchased some of the Magnolia Moments collection from Fancy Pants a while back with the intention of using it to scrap some of our new house. Our old home sold in eight days in October (!) so we have been living with my mom. The real estate market here is moving very fast! We finally found this one in February and closed April 9!

April Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash.

Here's our April Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge! I chose the right side and used some photos from December when we took a horse and carriage ride downtown.

I pulled out my Christmas stash for this page, but didn't make it too Christmasy themed. For some reason, it looks distorted and crooked, but it isn't in real life.

Unfortunately I don't have buttons, brads, or enamel dots (I know, right?!) so I used some epoxy flair from my stash. Thanks for looking!
