happy together.

Hello again! Today I'm sharing a page made for the remix challenge at Scrap Our Stash this month.

I used the Day Dream collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I still need to add my journaling. This is from a weekend spent in Columbus with my brother and his family. We went to the zoo there and had a a really great day. Thanks for looking!

love this time of year [Challenge YOUrself #85].

I'm back! It's been a while, but I am still on the team at Challenge YOUrself!

My husband and I both came down with Covid at the beginning of November. Neither of us were terrible ill at the time, but it sure delayed several appointments and miscellaneous things we had to do. Right after that came the busy holiday season I didn't have time or energy to scrap the rest of the year!

Our first challenge of 2021 is to scrap your favorite memory from 2020. I know 2020 was hard on many of you. One of my favorite moments was when a strange bought our meal one evening in December. This has never happened to me before and I was so surprised! I love how the holidays bring out generosity in people. We paid it forward, of course!

So we'd love to see the highlights of your 2020! Please head over to the Scrap YOUrself blog for rules and to upload your pages. Can't wait to 'see' you more in 2021!

holly + jolly.

This page was made for the 'cards against humanity' challenge at Paper Issues. We are challenged to use 3x4 journal cards on a page. I used two on this page to scrap my brother's Christmas card this year.

I did add some gesso to the background and use a little bit of mixed media. I just kind of wanted my whole cluster to stand out a bit more from the background. Everything is from Elle's Studio - this all just coordinated with my American Crafts background paper so well!

Thanks for looking!

2019 review.

Paper Issues got me with their 'Jenga' challenge this month. It's a year in review challenge and I'm not ready to do 2020 yet, but I did a page for 2019.

I used some distress inks on the background with the packaging technique. Printed journaling in strips. Just added a few small embellishments. Thanks for looking!

supplies

patterned paper: PinkFresh

stickers, labels: Elle's Studio

ink: Tim Holtz distress inks (peacock feathers; evergreen bough; pine needles; shaded lilac)

grow.

I'm playing along with a color challenge at Lasting Memories today! This page came together so quickly after I found this challenge. I was really puzzled with where to start with this photo, but I love the look of this finished page.

I really loved the wreath design on this patterned paper. I built onto the wreath by adding some floral die cut pieces. I fussy cut some leaves out of other patterned papers and added those as well. Some of the bits I adhered with foam adhesive for some visual texture.
I added a ton of little puffy heart stickers from Elle's Studio as a finishing touch. Thanks for looking!

fun at the zoo.

Documenting our nephew's first trip to the zoo! We visited him for the first time in September when he was about two weeks old and we all took a trip to the Columbus zoo. He slept the whole time :)

This page was inspired by a sketch at Paper Issues this month. I kind of went out of my comfort zone here, but I really like how this turned out. Used up a lot of Bella Blvd pieces on this design. Thanks for looking!

home.

Today I'm playing along with the first Scraplift Sunday challenge of November at Paper Issues! I used some of the Day Dreamer collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio on this autumn page. I was not a huge fan of this collection so I only got two embellishment packs and two patterned papers.

Thanks for looking!

chill out.

Our Christmas holiday last year was totally different than any other Christmas I've had. We spent the week prior in Mexico! We came home on Christmas Eve. It was wonderful!

I used the Vitamin Sea collection from Fancy Pants for this page. The little tag is from Heidi Swapp Art Walk.

I painted some gesso on my background so I could use some distress inks. I also used distress inks on the tag.

I super loved these rub ons from Fancy Pants. They're so cute & I haven't used rub ons in a long time. for my final touch, I added some acrylic stars from Elle's Studio. Thanks for looking!

special moments // Denise Boddey Designs.

Today I have a layout to share for Denise Boddey Designs!

This is my new nephew, Maxwell Archer, and I've used two DB chipboard designs on this page. The first, the bottle, I mixed some white acrylic paint and Shimmerz paints. The color was a little lighter than I wanted so after the paint dried, I ended up spritzing some of the Shimmerz on the bottle.

I used some of the remaining bits of my More Than Words collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. My title is Special Moments. For this chipboard piece, I first sprayed it with Goosebumps clear texture spray. Once that dried, I used the same Shimmerz Vibez (Snow Way Man) spray + Shimmerz Vibez (Snow Storm).
It has some cool texture and makes the iridescent colors look really neat. Thanks for stopping by!

Blackie.

This is for another challenge at Paper Issues this month! This one is the Monochromatic Fanatic challenge.

The color is black and on the moodboard, one of the photos says "ew, people." I thought that was a good reason to make a cat layout:) This is Blackie, who isn't really our cat, but is technically our cat. I used up some of these adorable Elle's Studio tags I've had forever, a few bits from Bella Blvd Chloe collection and  the Bazzill cardstock is called dark gray prismatic. Thanks for looking!

harvest.

Scraplift Sunday! You can see the page to scraplift HERE. I really went through my Elle's Studio stash and dug out a bunch of labels to use on this page. I couldn't think of a title so this page sat on my desk for a couple days and then I realized... I don't have to have a title. I'm just going to call this one what it is - harvest.

Use Your Stuff guest design team! Autumn.

Hello again! Use Your Stuff has another fun challenge this month - autumn! It can be interpreted so many ways. I chose to scrap a photo of Bentley, right after he was groomed and looking so handsome.

I used some pieces from my stash (Bella Blvd's Cooper collection, Elle's Studio 6x6 patterned paper, Scrappin Happy Studio flair) + a new patterned paper from Amy Tangerine's Late Afternoon and new chipboard flair from Days of Splendor (PinkFresh Studio). Thanks for looking!
