let's go [LCOM #84].

I can't believe it's August! Where does the time go?! Today my team is revealing sketch #84 over at Let's Capture our Memories. Go check it out and see all the inspiration. You can enter to win on the blog too! Here's the sketch:
LCOM84
 Here's what I did:
8.5 x 11 size.

I snapped this photo of TJ's nephew back in May. We just finished a garage sale at TJ's parent's house and Q wanted to come with me to feed and potty Bentley. That took about 10 minutes and then he was bored. He made us PB&J sandwiches, turned on the TV, tried to get on the treadmill, took a tour of the house, tried to ride our bikes (which were WAY too big), threw the Frisbee once, and then climbed the tree. He was not content and didn't sit still for longer than 30 seconds. I've not experienced anything like it in a LONG time! I was exhausted.

I used some Glitz Design and Studio Calico papers from my stash. I recently ordered an Elle's Studio grab bag so I used some of those + some Kelly Purkey stuff so I used one of her flair badges. The green washi is October Afternoon and the woodgrain washi is Glitz Design. I used some labels [Snap-CAPS] from OA Daily Flash collection and the tree die cut is from Jillibean Soup Chilled Cucumber Soup. The enamel dots + the stamp are Studio Calico and I added a label from Basic Grey's Hey Girl collection.

The prize this month is a grab bag of items from some awesome manufacturers! Here's how you can play along (you can also view these rules HERE):

1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget HERE. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.
3. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword LCOM84. LCOM products are NOT required to participate, and you can enter as many times as you want. If you don't have a particular shape indicated in the sketch, feel free to substitute.
4. There is no time limit - you can always play any week at any time, but the linking form will close on the last day of the month at 11:55pm (Atlantic Standard Time) to allow us to find a prize winner. Hope to see your entries soon!

wonderful days of summer|Scrap Much?!

It's the B team sketchy Friday release at Scrap Much?!

Our town has a free summer concert series in the park on Friday nights. One night in June, Dr Hook played and mom was dying to see them. We had never even heard of them but we all went and TJ's parents met us there. It wasn't bad but not a band that I'd necessarily want to hear again either.

I pulled some patterned papers from my stash - that background piece is by Sassafras (Sunshine Broadcast). I used some of Elle's Studio labels and tags + some Jillibean Soup Pea Pod Parts (Chilled Cucumber Soup). Here's our sketch:

Paper Wings Productions August Blog Hop: Favorite Color
This didn't scan so great but I used pink cardstock for my base and misted with glitz spray in sunset pink and moon shadow mist in silhouette silver by Lindy's Stamp Gang. Those gold foil wings and this stamp set were made for each other! I used the Faber Casteel artist big brush pens to stamp in the sentiment. I really love the way it turned out.

I've had this photo on my computer for over a year. This is a newborn photo of my second cousin's baby. She was born last August. Her mom was a school teacher. I just think this photo is so adorable. [Photo credit Harmon Photography]

I've linked the items I used directly to the store so they're really easy to find. I love this stamp set. Honestly, I love SO many of the PWP stamp sets. This was my first time using Lindy's Stamp Gang and I don't think it will be my last :) This was also my first time using the big brush pens by Faber Castell. The colors in this RED package are magenta, deep scarlet red, and scarlet red. Really pretty. I lovelovelove the look you get by using them like I did. That will be something I will never get bored with!

It's time to send you off to your next stop so head on over to AMBER.

I Heart Right Now [LCOM 82].

Two more days until my big 3-0 but wait no longer for Let's Capture Our Memories sketch #82!
I really liked this sketch - as an 8.5x11 size page. So I scaled this down for my page this week. I chose a selfie photo I took with my iphone5S and Instagrammed back in May. This is me, Bentley, and my brother's dog that I rescued Vanilla.

I used my June Studio Calico kit for the background patterned paper, puffy stickers, and chipboard stickers. The dog paper clip, stamps, and washi tape are from a SC mini kit a few months back. Then I used some Project Life dog themed cards (clearanced at Hobby Lobby the second week of June). The geotag chipboard and the plastic heart are also Studio Calico. My date stamp is also by Studio Calico.

{Birthday Bash} Sketch Challenge at Scrapping Turtle.

Hey everyone! We hope you're having an awesome time celebrating Turtle Soup's second birthday! Today Bev has a sketch for us and the design team is sharing their take on it.
sketch challenge
 Here's my page:

June 14 sketch reveal at Scrapping Turtle
These photos are from a friend's wedding last month. My brother's friend. My brother called me about three days before the wedding and said he needed a date. They went to school together, played on the same baseball teams, and the friend basically grew up at my house so he's kind of like a little brother. The wedding/reception were simple and tasteful. The food was yummy and it was nice to see some people we hadn't seen in a while.

For my page, I used mostly my June Studio Calico kits. (Here is my referral link if you're thinking about trying them out.) I added some sprinkles from Doodlebug (bumblebee), cork accents from Scraptastic (June 2014), label stickers from Basic Grey (Hello), and 'Today" stickers by SN@P! (Simple Stories).

If you want to join us on the challenge, or just check out how the other design team members interpreted the sketch, or jump into the Birthday Bash going on ALL month --  go HERE.

second snowiest [LCOM 80].

Hey everyone! I cannot believe it's sketch #80 at Let's Capture our Memories. Crazy

I think you'll love this sketch. Really basic, which leaves it wide open for interpretation.
My background patterned paper is by Studio Calico and came in the May kits. I used a project life card, some Kelly Purkey label stickers, and American Crafts glitter tape. The puffy star stickers are by twine + ink and the sequin wood veneers are Chic Tags. I added Amy Tangerine arrow rub ons and a Glitz giant rhinestone. Those alpha stickers are from my stash - Sassafras and Amy Tangerine (Goodness).
Since it's the beginning of July it was only fitting I go back about six months and scrapbook some photos of my house during Snowpocalypse in January. You may remember THIS layout. I took these photos during the snow storm of the front of my house and the backyard. It was my first winter + my first real snow in my new home.

So check out the blog today to see the layouts and cards from the design team. There are also details on how you can join us HERE. The prize for July is a copy of Card Maps 4 by Scrapbook & Cards Today!

1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget HERE. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.

hello peonies|Scrap Much?

Today is our sketchy Friday reveal at Scrap Much?. I found this sketch a little difficult - this page definitely took me out of my comfort zone.

I played with my hot off the press June Studio Calico kits on this one. I added some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in pink, some old Making Memories alphas, and some Amy Tangerine rub ons. My washi tapes are from previous SC kits (2013, I think) and the green mist is Mister Huey's in Doris. Using American Crafts pastel pigment ink, I stamped one of the Technique Tuesday stamps from the Simple Joy stamp set.
Be sure to visit Scrap Much? to see the layouts from the other design team members and then we hope you'll decide to join us! Here are a few guidelines:

Link up your creations in our sidebar to be entered into a random draw for our monthly prize. You have until Tuesday July 29th, at midnight to participate in any of July's sketch challenges, each linkup tool will remain open until that date!

If you are playing along with more than one challenge you will need to link each of them up via a separate blog post for the link up tool to work. (International participants may be required to pay some shipping fees.)  Good luck, we cannot wait to see what you create!

*note - If you are playing along using Flickr the team will no longer be leaving comments, due to changes in Flickr policies and passwords.  However, we will be checking out your entries for sure and you are definitely eligible for the prize draw. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
