For this month's blog hop, I made a layout using my Hearts Like Dogs stamp set (711). If you know me, you know why I chose this stamp set.These pups are so cute and could be altered in so many different ways. I also really love the saying and I find that it could not be more true.

I used my doggie stamps on vellum to make my own patterned paper. I stamped the dog images with Versamark and then heat embossed them [left to right] using Cappuccino Star (EP434), Copper Peddler (EP264S), Black Detail (EP171S), and Coffee (EP459). I strategically adhered the vellum to my page and then I just added some bits and pieces from my stash to finish my layout.

I stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink. I really love this ink for sentiments. It really gives a crisp, clean image every time.

Today I'm sharing a card using the Dreamweaver zebra skin stencil + distress ink blending over on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog. I'd love for you to pop over there and tell me if you like the crackled embossing paste. I thought it was really fun to work with!

I'm sharing a clean and simple card today for Sparkle N Sprinkle. It started with a chipboard window by want 2 scrap. I heat embossed the window with Versamark ink and marbled ocean embossing powder (EP438). Then I grabbed a piece of white scrap paper and used the Dreamweaver zebra stencil + Dreamweaver white embossing paste over the stencil. When I removed the stencil, I covered the embossing paste with cosmic skylight embossing powder (EP212) and heat set it. I used Tear-ific tap to adhere my window to a piece of patterned paper.

Using embossing powder over embossing paste gives a great dimensional look. I've never played around with embossing paste before, but once I started heat embossing with it I was hooked!

I used my Spellbinders Grand Calibur to die cut my heart shapes. I grabbed a scrap piece of paper and put two rows of 1/2" Tear-fiic tape. Then I used a die to cut the hearts out of the tape. When my hearts were cut, I just peeled off the top layer of tape and sprinkled on some Florida beach glitter (G1111). As a final touch, I rounded the corners on my card.

Stick It Down design team call!

Design Team Call!

It's time for a design team call! We are looking for new members for each of our teams - single page layouts, double page layouts and cards and we're also looking for sketch designers.

Our next term will run from July to December 2015. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to this time frame.

What you will do:

• provide one project per month, with possible special events during the six month term
• comment on all submissions as you are assigned
• post our challenge to your blog and other social media outlets 
• have projects completed before the deadline

What you need:

• an active blog
• a Facebook account as this is where the DT "meets"
• a love for sketches

What we will do:

• provide the sketches at least one month in advance
• provide your posting schedule and commenting assignments
• be supportive and encouraging
• share your photo and your link on our blog
• share your project on various social media outlets

How to apply:

• send an email to Stick it Down at StickItDownChallenges@gmail.com with the subject line "Design Team Call"
• include your name and location
• include a list of current commitments (no experience necessary!)
• include three of your favorite layouts or cards that best display your style and suit the requirements of the team you are applying for (ie, submit cards if you are applying for the card team)

• If you have experience or are interested in designing sketches, please include a few of your sketch designs in your application as well.

Hello there! Today I'm sharing my card for the Stick It Down May card challenge.Here is our sketch:

I used a stencil + ink blending to create the background. Then I heat embossed some chipboard with SNS embossing powders. These embossing powders are called 'marbled' and you can see why. The finished appearance is marbled with a pearlescent finish. It's quite lovely!

With my Spellbinders Grand Calibur , I die cut some circles. I added my sentiment and mounted the whole thing onto purple cardstock. Here's my finished card:

One of the perks of my job is sometimes I get to do cool things, like attend sporting events and sit in company suites. Today I'm sharing a layout I made for the Scrap Friends challenge. I used Rochelle's Tic Tac Toe challenge (arrow, pink + lined paper), Kelly's color challenge, and Brenda's sketch challenge. I combined these challenges with the Creative Embellishments May challenge (photo inspiration + crackle). I spritzed Mr Huey's in Cash Money on the chipboard heart border and then I coated it with Distress crackle paint in clear rock candy. It's hard to see in the photo, but it gives a sheer crackled finish.

I found a new challenge blog called Challenge YOUrself and their latest challenge was "around here." Now I'm not normally a selfie taker, but I did happen to take one before work the other day (I was trying out some new eyeliner + mascara). So I printed that photo off and grabbed one of my currently cards.

This layout came together pretty quickly + I got to use some things from my stash that I haven't yet used! I used the MFT file folder die cuts and TCW silhouette script mask. I used distress ink blending on the mask and I cut out the file folders from scraps of paper. Also for the first time... mirror banners from DCWV. I grabbed these on impulse from Joann.com one day and I think they are adorable! I inked up one of my favorite Unity stamps ever, ever and die cut some feathers randomly to tuck those in.

home tour: my scrapbook room.

May is a fun month because it marks 1.5 year point in my house. I shared the one year updates and hopefully will have tons more to share at the 2 year mark!

Today I'm going to share a tour of my scrapbook room/office. These photos were taken in March and it has already changed since then. I haven't made it to Ikea yet, but it's still on the list! I recently purchased a rug from Target and I am looking for an Ott Light for better lighting in here.

This houses mostly my stamps. I have them in all of the fabric bins. One of the fabric bins has my ribbon and twine. The little jars on the far left have Studio Calico and Freckled Fawn wood chips and pieces. The white baskets are from the $1 spot at Target and hold my washi tape. I have a few complete albums scattered around the house in baskets, but the last three year's of albums are here on these shelves.

My Ikea Expedit was purchased off of Craig's List for $125. I have moved and re-arranged things on here about 100 times and it now looks way different from when I took these photos. I am still trying to figure out the best storage solutions for this room.

I prefer a clean, 'everything in its place' look vs what a lot of people have in their scrapbook rooms. I don't want anything out; I like it all put away. I utilize the closet in this room for a lot of my storage. I have 3' wire racks that are packed full of stuff. I actually recently have made room to add one more shelf which will be really nice.

These are my Cricut cartridges, white boxes labeled with what's inside (cards, extra adhesives, etc), my Spellbinder's Grand Calibur (I found on clearance at Meijer for $49!

The wire baskets came from the $1 spot at Target. I actually have four and they hold dies, embossing folders, and DT product/projects.

I hung a peg board in the other half of the closet and all of these wire baskets came from Hobby Lobby. They hold mists, my Grand Calibur plates, and photo paper.

My Cricut is also kept in my closet. Against the south wall of the closet, I found these perfect metal shelving units at Home Goods. I think I'd like to go back for more. They had three colors. They're metal with three "shelves" that are actually more like buckets. They can hold a ton of stuff! So I have paints and mists, as well as ink pads I don't use regularly.

Behind my door I have a shoe pocket full of my punches. I don't have many punches and I don't use them very often either.
