hello pumpkin season tradition. [NSD 2020]

Happy National Scrapbook day (a day late)! I worked yesterday so today I am having some scrappy time.

This layout is for one of the challenges at Elle's Studio. The challenge is to make a title with 4+ words. I combined some Elle's Studio puffy stickers with a cut file from Paper Issues to make my long title. The acrylic hearts, the house wood veneer, the patterned paper I backed my cut file with and the die cut labels are all from my Elle's Studio stash.

Every autumn at my old house, I would visit our local farmer's market to get mums and pumpkins to decorate out. Then I'd spend several minutes with Bentley, trying to get him to sit and pose. It's a tradition I hope to carry on in our new home. Last autumn was our first in our new house and we weren't quite settled yet, but this year I have big plans!

Hello again! Yesterday I shared my kit selection video and my May Counterfeit kit.

Here's the first page I've made with my kit. I used one of the PinkFresh floral patterned papers and one of the chipboard circle frames from ScrapMatts. I mixed some white acrylic paint and Shimmerz (Pink Stillettos) to paint my chipboard.

The photo is of me in 1986. Then I just added a few of the embellishments that I chose for my kit. Some chipboard from Bella Blvd, a Thicker title and a little floral die cut. Thanks for looking!

So excited to put my kit together this month for Counterfeit Kit! HERE was our inspiration kit. What stood out to me the most was all of the florals. If you know me at all, you know I am not a floral scrapbooker. So while I did want to incorporate some of the florals, I knew that was not going to be my focus.

When you're creating your own kits, do not think you have to copy everything exactly. This is an inspiration kit. Maybe you're inspired by a pattern, or an embellishment, or the stamp set, or the washi tape. Whatever you see that sparks your inspiration, go with it! HERE is a video of how I selected my May kit.

The first thing I saw that inspired my whole entire kit was this paper:

This floral frame reminded me of a patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. So I pulled it out of my stash as my starting point. Then I looked at the rest of the patterned papers. I see pinks and turquoise and florals ...and a bold black print. Next I go through my stash of patterned papers and pull out anything that fits that description.

Then I noticed there were tons of little die cut embellishment pieces and a stamp set with a pretty scripty font.

I pulled out a few stamp sets and tons of embellishment packs from my stash. Once I had everything gathered, I started narrowing down the color scheme and fine tuning what matched and coordinated.

A vintage photo from 1996! This page was inspired by the April sketch at Let's Get Sketchy + the word play challenge at Lasting Memories. This time I used the word SPRING so I used a seal animal, a penguin, ready to use watercolor paper by Vicki Boutin, ink, navy, and giraffe patterned paper. Here's my page:

I have all these cut die cut embellishments from Bella Blvd that I've had for years so when I found this photo of my brother and me with my mom, I had to pull out these little animals and use as many as possible. Thanks for looking!

Hello again! Two layouts this week:)

I've been trying to do the monthly sketches from Stick It Down this year because I want to support my design team (I think I missed last month's though) and I barely got done with April's sketch!

I scrapped these photos of my brother and I with the chicken pox. I combined this sketch challenge with Lasting Memories word play challenge for April. This time I used the word FLOWER ...so I used florals, Laura Rumble sketch, orange, white space, epoxy flair, and round shaker frame.

I love having my mom's handwriting on the back of the photos and I didn't want to lose that. So I took a photo of her handwriting, then edited it and printed it out so I could attach it as 'journaling' on my page. Thanks for looking!

Long time, no see! April has been a weird month of working a lot of overtime + spending some time outdoors since the weather is warming up. I have been scrapbooking, but it's been for upcoming projects that won't be revealed until next month :)

So I had some time today to make this fun page for the April Scrap the Girls challenge. The theme is adventure and this is a selfie from my 'bachelorette party' night. I used the Art Walk collection from Heidi Swapp + some Pink Paislee 5th and Monaco.

I don't do mixed media very often, but I did use the packaging technique with some distress inks on this page. I chose Peacock Feathers and Pine Needles.

I decided to try to combine this challenge with one of the Lasting Memories challenges this month. They are doing my least favorite kind of challenge in April because they're so hard! The challenge is to use an item/technique with every letter from the word RAIN. So I used roses, Art Walk collection, ink, and a napkin to blog my ink:)

Hello friends! This month we are challenging you to use a black and white photo of YOU! I pulled out one of our engagement photos from 2016 that I haven't scrapbooked yet.

I loved this Bliss collection from My Mind's Eye. It's from 2018 and this is the last 12x12 paper I have left from the collection. I have a process video HERE of how I used some of the embellishments.

 I fussy cut this diamond from one of the 3x4 journal cards. The 'favorite' sticker is not from this collection; it's from my stash.

Who's ready for spring flowers?! I am! I realized today I never documented my last 'garden walk' from our home we sold in October 2018. I lived in that house for five years and did so, so, so much work in the yard. and I loved my yard. So, so much. Here are many of the summer flowers that I planted.

 These butterflies are from the Pink Paislee 5th and Monaco collection. I used some distress inks to color them.

 Then I just grabbed a bunch of items from my stash. Some Elle's Studio puffy hearts, some old Studio Calico wood veneer pieces, and some flair from Scrappin Happy Studio.

I love this ocean vibes cut file from COAPA. I wanted to use it for this picture of the sunrise one morning from our hotel room when we were in Mexico last December.

I realized when I was recording for the process video (HERE) that I didn't even finish fussy cutting inside of my cut file. I do this all the time! Why?! I think I get too excited to start my page. Anyway...

I found this polaroid of my brother and I when we were little. Back in 1990, there was this photo op at a local mall. I chose one of the Vicki Boutin ready to use mixed media paper. This pad is gorgeous!

I was inspired by a Paper Issues spring crop challenge to use all the colors in the rainbow. Coincidentally, Confessions of a Paper Addict has a March challenge to use rainbow colors.

 I used a COAPA balloons cut file for this page. I chose to just leave the cut file as is so that you could see the pretty watercolor background.

This page was inspired by Sketch N Scrap #196. It's actually a re-do of a page I did in 2008. This is a photo of my work badge from my first job as an RN. At the time I scrapped this page, I used this quote from Grey's Anatomy and I still think it's relevant. So I typed it up and printed it off and used it again on this page.

I'm feeling all the feels right now about my job and the current events. Nurse life is the best life. But it's hard. So hard.

My stethoscope cut file is free at Paper Issues and is relevant for all my nurse friends. I'd love to see how you use it!

Believe it or not, I've used up almost ALL of my Happiness collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio! I have no full 12x12 papers left! This is exciting and sad at the same time!

This fun page was made with the March counterfeit kit I put together. They issued a challenge to pick three items from a  list and I chose pink, frames, and florals.

 Just a silly Snapchat photo of us on our three month wedding anniversary. I loved this pink woodgrain and I have been hoarding it for years. It's Bella Blvd Simply Spring.

I love this beautiful My Favorite Story collection from PinkFresh! Sooo pretty!

I did something new for this page. I found a unicorn from a Google search and turned it into a cut file! I embellished with a bunch of the chipboard flair and the flower ephemera. This page was inspired by the florals in this month's challenge at Scrap the Girls.

I saw this quote on Instagram and knew I wanted to use it on a layout.
