July 4th on the water.

Hi! July is almost over so it's time to document last July 4, right? I'm playing along with the Paper Issues Stars and Stripes challenge + The Studio Challenges July challenge to use a big shape on your layout. I chose a heart :) The 4th of July cut file at Paper Issues was perfect for page. This is a FREE cut file and it has SO many sayings and graphics to choose from.

 I started this page with some clear gesso on the white Bazzill cardstock because I knew I wanted to use some red distress ink on my background. I also added some silver splatters because there's silver in the Doodlebug paper I used for the cut files.

My photo is printed with a white border so I mounted it on a red patterned paper to help it stand out. Then I just added some of the extra stars, some puffy stickers, and sequins for some extra details. Thanks for looking!

Tonight I'm playing along with sketch 344 at Sketches in Thyme. I rotated this sketch and used a vertical 4x6 photo of my fiance and his grandmother at his cousin's wedding last month. It was a gorgeous day and the venue had a beautiful patio.

Scrap Our Stash July 15 Blend A Sketch Challenge.

Hey everyone! Sharing my July 15 Blend a Sketch challenge today. I used the sketch on the left with the horizontal photos, but I used two larger photos instead of four smaller ones.

Both sketches are similar with the vertical strip of paper kind of as a mat and then the horizontal layering of paper and embellishing. From the second sketch, I used the title placement and the little banner embellishment up in the top left corner.

I added in a few extra embellishments because that's just my style and I used the packaging technique to bring some pink ink in from the background paper.

Both Our Hearts Believe.

Hey guys! Sharing a layout real quick before heading outside. We're supposed to get some storms later this afternoon so I want to get outside while I can.

I worked on this page off and on all week. I wanted to play along with Stacy's July song challenge (even though I don't care for Ed Sheerhan or this song) because I love using lyrics on my pages and I want her to keep going with this challenge! :) I used my typewriter to type out a line of the song - both of our hearts believe - but I know you can't hardly see it. I just ordered new ribbon for my vintage typewriter.

I also used one of Paper Issue's July scraplift challenges - this page is scraplifted from Debbie T. My title is one of the older PI cut files found HERE.

This is my first time trying a sequin shaker on a layout. I think I crammed it a little too full. But I do love the look of it and I'll try it again :)

Guys! I saw this new cut file at Paper Issues today and screamed! I am so excited about all the ways to use this and if you're not familiar with PI cut files - they're all FREE! I love the stethoscope and the font is SO pretty.

If you're new here, I'm a nurse, and I currently work urgent care. I want to first say I hate when people scrapbook Snap Chat filtered photos BUT this is a recent one I have from work so I had to go with it. I used all Pink Paislee's Pick Me Up collection and the packaging technique with distress inks.

I'm playing along with Lasting Memories challenge this month to document your job. I found this challenge to be super important because we went to college for four years, we spend 40+ hours a week at this place, and we never talk about it in our scrapbooks!

I combined this with the July tic tac toe challenge at Paper Issues. I used cardstock, date, and patterned paper.

Scrap our Stash July 1 Golden Globe stash challenge.

Hi everyone! This is my first challenge as a member of the Scrap Our Stash design team and I'm so excited! Here is our first challenge:

I was first inspired by the collage of photos and I wanted to do a play on the 'days of summer' somehow on my page. My summer this year has been mostly wedding planning. Originally I used Google to determine how many days we'll have spent planning by August 11 (146), but then decided to be more general and use Summer of Wedding Planning.

So I printed a ton of photos in small sizes so I could make a collage of the things we've been working on. I ended up not using as many of the photos as I had planned.

The twist on this challenge is to include a sun and I had this cut file that I backed with patterned paper and then fussy cut.

I've had this black & white photo of my cousins graduation for a year, waiting to be scrapbooked. Finally today I found the inspiration to get it done.

I used a cut file from Paper Issues  and one of their June challenges - to keep everything on the bottom 1/3 of your layout.

I first smeared some clear and white gesso mix behind where my cut file would be. Then I used the packaging technique and just flicked some mist splatters on my page. Thanks for looking!

I've chosen two stamp sets to work with this month: Brave Girls and Frothy Concoctions. I realize these are supposed to be iced coffee drinks or some fancy frappuccino thing, but I don't drink those kinds of things. Plus, it's summer and I wanted to make a smoothie or an ice cream shake or something fun like that.

So I stamped my 'smoothies' and heat embossed them with yellow and orange embossing powders. Then I fussy cut them. I chose several yellow and orange distress inks and used the packaging technique to apply color to my smoothies.

I used the same technique on my card background, except that I added a pink ink. I couldn't resist. This color combo screams summer to me!

my favorite escape.

I'm playing along today with the May challenge at CSI. I was very inspired by the book in the mood board because I love to read. I decided to pull out some pictures from our last two vacations where I'm reading on the beach.

I wanted to use the Island Escape collection from Bella Blvd, but this patterned paper for my background was too blue and bold. I mixed some white and clear gesso together and smeared it all over the background. I mounted my photos on an orange patterned paper and tried to stick to the colors from the mood board - orange, pink, and yellow.

I adhered some Glitz decorative tape (super old but my favorite!) to the bottom to ground my whole page. Then I started adding embellishments using a visual triangle with the flowers, labels, circles, veneer pieces, and finally with the hearts.

Earlier this month my mom went with my brother & his girlfriend to Florida and stayed a week. These pics were from a sunset one evening before they all headed out to dinner.
